Quite a few gifted people develop a feeling of loneliness and even awkwardness. Especially if they had been the only “smart kid” in a closed neighborhood without a possibility to meet others of their kind.
If your surrounding has been letting you know for many years that your are “the odd one out” getting to know other gifted people can be an amazing and truly mindblowing experience. 🙂
I recommend you to check the national or even local pages of Mensa, the largest international community for gifted people.
